Nicotine Addiction
In about an hour, I’m going to attend an online Nicotine Anonymous meeting on Yahoo Groups.
Part of me says “What’s the use? I’ve tried and tried… I’ll never be free of this goddamn addiction. I was able to quit drinking, but that was no where near as hard. This one’s got me, and it’s got me for life.”
Bullshit.
If it’s true that I’m creating my life from moment to moment, then I can choose at any point to create something new by choosing something new. I can choose to take action, and leave the results up to the universe. I can choose to ask and receive.
One thing that I’ve done, and still do it, is fall into black and white thinking. I’ll join some organization that promises X, and then think that I have to blindly follow that particular organizations ideas on how to obtain X. And if there’s another organization that also promises X, but does it a bit differently, they must be wrong and I can’t ever use any of their methods.
Another form of mental bullshit.
My target is quitting smoking. What tools do I know about that may help me with this?
1.) NRT
2.) Nicotine Anonymous
3.) EFT
4.) New Thought
Why not use them all?
And then detach from the results.
