Will What I’m Doing Bring Me to Where I Want to Go?
That’s quite a question, and a lot of other questions are buried within it.
Questions like:
1.) Where do I want to go?
2.) What am I doing?
3.) Is there something more effective that I could be doing?
If the answer to the original question is yes, you aren’t kidding yourself, are you?
I’ve done a lot of kidding myself in the past. For instance, if I had a target for a number of visitors to a particular website or blog, I would constantly check my stats, my referers, join traffic exchanges, etc. Instead of taking the time to provide valuable content to my readers. (Check out Steve Pavlina’s article on that one.)
If I’m at work, I try to remember to ask myself “Is what I’m doing right now the best thing I could be doing my customers, my employer, my career?” Or am I just shuffling paperwork around, moving something from here to there, not really doing anything worthwhile?
Today, I will stay conscious of what I’m doing, and if it isn’t taking me where I want to go, I will change my actions.
