I’m starting to question the wisdom of writing two separate personal blogs, one for my business ventures and one related to my recovery and personal development.

The pros: I… (long long pause at the keyboard)

The cons: I feel separated from myself, disconnected, somehow false, like I have one face here and another there.

The truth is that I am one person with many aspects. I’m a recovering alcoholic, I’m a spiritual seeker, I’m a retail salesman, I’m a writer, I’m a network marketer, I’m a computer geek.

I’m all of these things. We all are all of these things. You may not be those specific things, but you are many things as well.

Of course, when it all boils down to it, we are all all things. But that’s for another entry.

It’s time to integrate myself. And to hell with the people who don’t like it.

That’s what it boils down to. I’m worried that others in recovery wouldn’t like me mentioning my business ventures in this blog.

And I’m worried that writing about my recovery here would harm my chances at succeeding in business.

What I’m striving for is freedom. And to be chained to the opinions of others is the worst kind of slavery there is.

I think I’ve got my answer.

And I’m really frickin’ sick of typing “internetmarketingventures.net” as a domain name. It’s just too damn long.

One thing I’m not going to do is use this as an excuse to chuck things that I’ve committed to.

I’m committed to my spiritual growth and sobriety, using the 12 Steps and the fellowship of Alcoholics Anonymous. Out of respect for the organization, I feel I need to mention that I’m just a member. Nothing I say here should be construed as a part of their philosophy…. but that’s probably true of anyone or thing I link to, unless I have direct control over it.

I’ve committed to the 30-Day Mental Cleanse that I signed up for via Mentoring For Free.

I’ve committed to completing Simpleology 102. I completed Simpleology 101 a while back, got off track, and reviewed it again before starting 102. I completed lesson 5 today… I forgot how fantastic it really is!

I am not going to use this as an excuse to drop any of these. They can all co-exist.

It’s all in my head. It can all be out here too.

Because I bet that at least one other person reading this has the same struggles.

And I’m here to tell you that it’s OK.

“Bring out the magic in your mind” by Al Koran. First published in 1964, way ahead of his time. People must have thought he was very strange indeed. He was a magician, but there is a lot more to him than that.

  5. Thanks, Anji! I’ll be checking that one out… it looks good!
