The Personal Development Carnival

If you're new here, you may want to get free updates via email or RSS. Thanks for visiting!

I first learned about blog carnivals from Steve Pavlina’s post on making money from your blog. So I went in search of a carnival specifically for blogs devoted to personal development of some kind.

I found nothing.

So I’m starting one!

The rules are simple: submit your best original personal development related article to me by midnight Friday (pacific time). The carnival will then be posted before the end of the weekend.

For all the information, check out the carnival’s listing at Blog Carnival.

Be sure to get those entries in so we can have a huge opening day! If you’ve written an article, submit it! Or if you’ve read an article, please contact the author and ask them to consider submitting it.

Thanks!

  1. Hmmm…personal development, I think it should be a priority for everyone everyday…but, what I have learned is that most people do not want to change unless they have to. So I am calling out to individuals who have recognized the power in change and are not afraid to do so. Stong purposeful individuals….I want to hear from others ..what does it take to take the first steps of change?

  2. Wow, great comment, Samacitta.

You are absolutely right about most people not wanting to change unless they absolutely have to… that’s actually what started me on my own quest for growth. I had to, or I was going to die… literally, physically die.

I know that one of the things many of the experts say is that the only way you will change is if you produce that sense of urgency in yourself. In other words, there is no more “maybe I’ll change.” There is only “I WILL change, because I MUST change.”

I’m extremely grateful for the desperate struggles I went through, because they gave me that MUST.

Once again, thanks for the great comment!

  3. […] The carnival started back on May 16th, 2006, just before they really started to go as “mainstream” as they are today. Here’s the first post that I put up announcing the carnival. And here’s the first edition. […]

This is what motivated him to start searching for collections of stories of people who had made comebacks after strong setbacks. Since he couldn’t find one that satisfied him, he created his own… a man after my own heart. […]
