It recently found an excellent video of Dr. Maxwell Maltz, creator of Psycho-Cybernetics, that I had to share:

It’s about 10 minutes long, and well worth the time.

Dr. Maltz was a plastic surgeon who developed Psycho-Cybernetics after he noticed that while he could improve his patients’ physical appearance, there often was no corresponding change in how individuals would see themselves. Others may react to them more positivly, but it did very little in improving their own happiness. They continued to see themselves as ugly or deformed.

In my extensive study of personal development, this seems to be a common theme. Unless we can change what’s on the inside, all of the changes on the outside are pretty much useless, and often short lived.
