The Personal Development Carnival for January 28, 2007
(6)Posted on January 28th, 2007Lyman ReedUncategorized
It’s up! Gleb has done a fantastic job with the January 28th edition of the Personal Development Carnival. There are 43 articles over there for your reading pleasure and personal growth. Great job on selections, Gleb!
Here are my five favorite entries:
Ellesse over at Goal Setting College has written a fantastic article on dealing with and learning from our failures. Read Drawing Inspirations from Your Miserable Failures.
If there’s anything I love, it’s a good quote, and if it’s from Dale Carnegie… even better. Shamelle from Enhance Life gives us some great ones from the master of winning friends and influencing people, along with the blogger’s own insightful commentary. Be sure to check out his Dale Carnegie Guide To A Happier YOU
“You can’t solve a problem you just KNOW you don’t have!” Amen to that one. Sarah from Wise Bread breaks it down for us, showing us both how to recognize our financial problems and what to do about our ignornace, in Honesty: Truly, the Best Policy.
I think that Rick and Nneka conspired to have these next two posted one after the other… or maybe it was just that wonderful thing called synchronicity.
First, Rick from Shards of Consciousness reminds us that the past is gone, and the future isn’t here yet, so our only Point of Power is in the Present.
Then, Nneka from Balanced Life Center has a post on a topic I’ve wondered about myself - if we are living in the Now, then what’s the point of setting goals? She has some great answers for us in Goal Achievement and The Collapse of Time.
I loved a lot of the other articles in the carnival, but those five touched me the most. Be sure to check it out yourself for more.
Next week’s edition will be back here at Creating a Better Life, so send those submissions in! The week after that is still open, so if you are interested in hosting, be sure to drop me a line, and I’ll get back to you with all of the info ASAP.

Those are some awesome posts. Lots of overlap between being in the present and goal achievement. did you intend a theme?

Not really, Nneka… it wasn’t intentional, but since it’s something I’ve been trying to get an understanding of, that’s probably why they did touch me.
