De.lico.us Links

If you're new here, you may want to get free updates via email or RSS. Thanks for visiting!

The previous post is the beginning of a little experiment I’m trying. I first saw something similar on Andy Wibbels’ blog, and I thought I’d try it out myself.

I’ve been using StumbleUpon for a few months now, but it really got to be quite the time eater. If I happened to have a moment of boredom at the PC, I’d just start clicking away at the Stumble icon… and the next thing I’d know it was an hour later. Don’t get me wrong… I found a lot of great sites through StumbleUpon, but the toolbar’s presence was just too tempting.

So I thought I’d play around with de.lico.us a bit again, something I haven’t done in quite a while. It’s got a great Firefox plugin, and it will allow me to share those sites that I come across in what (to me at least) is a much cleaner way. I’m not much of a visual person, so linear lists, rather than super cool graphics, really appeal to me.

But back to that post…

de.licio.us also has a function that will auto post bookmarked links to a blog. After a bit of searching and ran across an explanation of it on Natalie Downe’s blog (via this post on Trapped at Berkeley).

And it looks like it’s working!

I’m not sure if this will be a permanent feature or not. I don’t want to clutter up the main content of the blog with a bunch of links, but at the same time, one of the purposes of this blog is to share information on creating a better life. This seems like a great way to do it.

I’d appreciate your feedback on the daily links, either by commenting or contacting me. Thanks!

  1. I think its a great idea. I have been looking around for the best way to go about it. I skimmed over this option because it looked horrible to implement. Looks like I need to take another look1

  2. Yeah, the implementation isn’t pretty… but it does get the job done nicely! I’m enjoying using it, and I’m hoping that it’s adding value to the blog.
