If you’re reading this article on the Creating a Better Life site rather than from an RSS feed, at the top of the left hand column you’ll see a section called Top Three Recommended Resources.
Simpleology33 is the one I’ve been using the longest. The last time I wrote about it extensively was when the book was published.
Abraham-Hicks is the newest, but I’ve known of them the longest. I resisted their teachings for a long time because of “channeling thing”. See About Abraham for their own take on this subject.
I discovered the Introduction to Meditation series somewhere between the previous two. I’d had an interest in Buddhism and insight meditation for a long time, but had trouble finding a site that easily connected my western lifestyle to Buddhism’s eastern origins. This course really bridged that gap for me.
Why I’m Telling You This
I’ve decided to write full reviews of each of these resources, in order to answer the following questions:
- Why am I recommending them?
- What are they all about?
- What do I like about them?
- What don’t I like?
- Do I have any financial interest in promoting them?
I can give a general answer to the first and last questions right now.
Why I Recommend Them
There are three general reasons why these are my top recommendations:
- I use all three (almost) daily, and have experienced exceptional growth from each.
- They are general enough in nature that they can be used in conjunction with any self improvement/personal development goal.
- The free material available through each is valuable enough to be used without purchasing anything more from the sites.
The last point is especially important to me personally. While people should be compensated for their work, in the field of personal development the very people who need it most are the one’s who can afford it the least. So these three sites are not only great starting points, but have more than enough value to get people up to the level where they do have the choice to expand further. Which brings me to my own…
Personal Financial Interest
I do have a financial interest in promoting Simpleology33. I’m a member of Mark Joyner’s Simpleology Strategic Partner Program. I have worked through Simpleology 101 and 102, and I’m currently working on 103. I’ve not yet tried the 7-Day Business Turnaround Course33. But let me be clear - while the other courses have helped me tremendously when it comes to my money (102) and health (103), they are not necessary to sign up for and get maximum benefit from Simpleology 101. Simpleology 101 is not a “teaser course”, although it is used to promote Mark’s other products.
I have no financial interest in promoting the Abraham-Hicks website. If I do recommend one of their books or tapes, it will usually be through an Amazon.com link, who I do have financial ties with.
I have no financial interest in the Insight Meditation Center or Audio Dharma, the producers of the Introduction to Meditation series.
The Schedule
The first review will be of Simpleology 101, and will be published tomorrow, July 20. I’ll take a little break for the weekend, and publish the Abraham-Hicks review on Monday the 23rd, followed by The Introduction to Meditation on Tuesday the 24th. I’ll then publish a wrap up article on Wednesday the 25th.
I do hope that this series will provide some value to you. Please feel free to let me know what you think about any of these resources, or the information I’m presenting on them, in the comments or via my contact form.
