Calling All Book Lovers!
If you're new here, you may want to get free updates via email or RSS. Thanks for visiting!
Today, Phil Gerbyshak of Make It Great sent crack to an addict.
Metaphorically (duh…).
He actually sent me an invite to Shelfari - a new social networking site that is based around books!
I ended up spending hours on there - exploring, adding books to my shelf, creating a group, joining groups…
I thought my readers might like to do the same thing. If your email address is in my address book, you probably already got an invitation. But if not, check out my Shelfari profile, and join me if you’d like.

Cool Blog. I love the widget. I have been a Shelfari member for the last 2 months and absolutely love it!
Any good reads you could recommend me?
Add me as a friend.

Thanks, Danny. You’ve got some good stuff on your shelf… found a couple of books I’d forgotten about.
I probably should have mentioned my Shelfari login in the post - I’m lymanreed. And the friend request is on the way.
Funny stuff Lyman! Glad to share my addiction with you!
Thanks for sharing it, Phil. It’s a great site!
Thanks Lyman.
Here’s some info from Wikipedia: “Bibliophilia is the love of books. Accordingly, a bibliophile loves books, but especially “for qualities of format”. A bookworm loves books for their content, or otherwise loves reading in general. The practice of loving or collecting books is dubbed bibliophilism, and the adjective form of the term is bibliophilic. Also, a bibliophile may be a book collector.
I am all of the above and I am checking out Shelfari now.
Thanks, Tom (TRCoach)
Hi Tom - I’m all three of those as well!
I hope to see you on Shelfari.
I went there and joined right away, I just added you as a friend. Its neat to see what others are reading or have read.
Tom
Isn’t it, Tom? One thing that I like about it is finding books that it’s been awhile since I’ve read on other people’s shelves. For instance, I just found “Jonathan Livingston Seagull on your shelf. It’s been awhile since I read that one, but I loved it!
