I Choose To Create A Great Day

Happy Positive Thinking Day, everyone!

It sure started as an interesting one for me. After I fired up the computer this morning and logged into this site, I was greeted with the following message on my screen:

“This page does not exist. It may have been removed due to non payment or abuse.”

Whoa! That’s not good.

The problem was resolved pretty quickly… within minutes after firing off an email to my hosting company (who I love!), everything was back in working order. Just a minor glitch on the server.

I could have wasted time a lot more time fretting about it.

But I was choosing to create a great day.

Not that I was all sweetness and smiles when I saw it. That’s not positive thinking… that’s Pollyanna thinking.

(Hmmm… after reading that Wikipedia entry, maybe that is a good way to be!)

Positive thinking, in my opinion, is the practice of adjusting our thoughts with the purpose of meeting conditions as they are in order to get the most benefit out of them, either by changing what we can or accepting them as they are, knowing that everything works to our benefit.

It’s NOT denial of what is. It’s embracing it.

I attracted it in the first place… might as well work with it!

A big thanks goes to Kirsten and her partners (check them all out on the Positive Thinking Day Website) for creating this day for us.

And don’t forget to check out all of the winners in the Most Positive Person Contest. The Most Positive Person winner was announced today!

Another big thank you to Kirsten and ipopin for the awesome iPod Shuffle! It came in last night, and I’m listening to some beautiful affirmations right now…

Don’t forget to do what you can to provide your support for the Christopher and Dana Reeve Foundation. If you make a purchase from ipopin.com by September 15th, 50% of your purchase goes toward this worthy cause.

On topic……………
Agree 100%. This is the main focus of my site also.

Off topic…………
I believe that by just being a part of “Priscilla Palmer’s Personal Development list” suggests that each of us post this list. You like me (Killeris at “Attitude, the Ultimate Power”) are on this list. If you have already posted it, THANK YOU. If you have not posted it, I am officially putting out a challenge that you add additional sites that fit the theme and post the entire list. This is my opinion only. If you disagree I respectfully understand. If you do agree with me this list can be found at: http://mondaymorningpower.blogspot.com/2007/09/personal-development-list-challenge.html

Hey Lyman,
You rock! Seriously!

You are welcome! Enjoy your iPod and ipopins. :)

Just out of curiosity, you say you love your host. Do you mind sharing who that is? I’d love to find a better one.

Mel – What are you, the meme police?

Priscilla – My host is at http://www.phpwebhosting.com. I’ve been with them for a couple of years now, and they’re great, but you do need to be familiar with some of the technical aspects of website hosting to use them.

Kirsten – I am! And thank you again. :)

Great attitude to have Lyman! You are right about positive thinking not being about denial, but rather about accepting “negative” things without getting upset and letting them ruin your day.

Thanks, Liz. It’s a different way of thinking, but the more one does it, the more of a habit it becomes.
