What I learned from the Secrets of the Millionaire Mind Seminar by T. Harv Eker

“You can have all the knowledge and skills in the world, but if your “blueprint” isn’t set for success, you’re financially doomed.” — T. Harv Eker

I watched an amazing video yesterday that I wanted to share with you:

T. Harv Eker’s Secrets of the Million Mind

A couple of the points about the seminar really struck me:

  1. Being comfortable and being rich are two different things. Many people go for comfort - if you do, you’ll never be rich. Put yourself into uncomfortable situations in order to grow.
  2. Work from the inside out (where have I heard that before?). It’s all about what’s going on inside. Your mental, emotional, and spiritual self are the root - the physical is the fruit. Focus on changing the root, and the fruit will change.
  3. Action is the bridge between the invisible and the visible. No one has ever had a bag of money dropped on his or her head while sitting around meditating. Physical money is a part of your physical reality, so you must to something in the physical word to get it!
  4. Everyone feels fear, rich and poor alike. Rich people act in spite of fear, poor people let fear stop them.
  5. One powerful way to increase your income is to figure out a way to help 10 times the number of people you are helping now. Your income is a direct reflection of the value you are adding to the world. Rich people solve problems for people, and get paid to do it.

There’s a lot more in the video, but those are the points that really struck me.

You can also listen to a downloadable audio version of T. Harv Eker’s teleseminar by clicking here.

Enjoy!

  1. You pulled some great nuggets from the book Lyman

It’s been sitting on my shelf for the last two years since the BUZZ died down and I’ve moved on to the next wave of books, haha.

I really like how you captured the essence of the a key point he makes into your post.

Don’t you even think of abandoning your writing!!!!!!!!! You know what a fan I am of your insights. :D

    Cheers,
    Lorraine

PS. THanks for adding the edit widget! Sometimes I type too fast. :D

  2. Thanks, Lorraine. I was really happy to find this video… I don’t have a copy of the book itself, but the video was a great way to get the points.

No, the writing isn’t being abandoned. :) I can’t, even when I think I want to!

  4. To me wealth is the ability to do what you love and share it with other people. So I’ve always focused on the inner work and let the money take care of itself. It’s worked just fine. Here’s one example of truly successful person: http://cheerfulmonk.com/2007/08/13/its-a-magical-world/

  5. Lorraine: hmmm… maybe I do… No No! :)

Jean: That’s pretty much what Eker is talking about, but he’s focusing it on the inner work of earning (and keeping) money itself. The inner reflects the outer, no matter what it is you are working on.

And thanks for sharing that link! More comments about it over there. :)

  8. this is an excellent video, i didnt watch it but i did listen whilst browsing the net, just goes to show you that rich people are just the same as “normal” people, but what makes them wealthy is their attitude and state of mind. For me i think having money doesnt make you rich, what makes people rich is financial literacy and knowing what to do and how to handle the money they have.

  9. Great book…going to the Secrets of the Millionaire Mind seminar was a life changing experience for me. If you apply what you learn, it completely changes the way you think about money and success. I highly recommend the book and the seminar.

  10. Thanks for coming by and commenting, Lyman. And for the review at StumbleUpon. I will be tagging you at Cheerful Monk very early Monday morning for Alex Shalman’s Caring Compassion Charity project. Basically you write a post about a charity/cause you’re passionate about and link to me and to Alex. Then, if you choose, tag other people. This is my first time doing something like this, but I’m sure it’s old hat to you!

If you are interested, the rules are (from Alex)

I’m calling this one Caring Compassion Charity to stick with the theme, and here are the official rules:
    1. In a new blog post, list and write about the top 1 or 2 causes that simply make your palms sweat, your heart bleed, and send tears rolling down your cheeks. Make sure you tell everyone why this cause is so important to you as an individual.
    2. In the introduction of your post, explain what you’re doing with the Caring Compassion Charity project and “put a link and/or a trackback to this post”, for the purpose of giving readers the full rules and for me to compile the master list of all participants that I’ll link to in a future post.
    3. As with Gotta Get Goals, don’t forget to put a link or trackback to the blogger who tagged you for Caring Compassion Charity in order to let your readers follow the conversation around.
    4. Sharing your Caring Compassion Charity with your own audience, will also share them with the blogger who tagged you and the bloggers you tagged, as well as their whole audience!
    5. There is no limit to how many bloggers you are allowed to “tag”, so go crazy. It will help their exposure as well as your own when they tag back to your Caring Compassion Charity post. That’s how this writing project works. Just make sure you e-mail the people you tag, so they know to participate!
    6. Now just sit back and watch. As people open up what they’re truly passionate about, we’ll get a better grasp on what WE can do to change the world, and why it’s important.

  11. What a great way to look at being rich, Martin. One example that comes to mind is the lives of some of the celebrities here in the US… when it comes to pure dollars, they are rich, but what they do with and how they handle those dollars are a different story. And with all of their “success”, I wouldn’t trade places with some of them for a second.

  12. Liz - thanks for the recommendation. From what I’ve read and heard so far, Eker is a pretty amazing guy. I’ll have to add it to my “to read” list (which is getting huge!)

  13. Jean - thanks for the tag! Just like that “to read” list, my meme list is getting pretty huge as well. I’ll get it done as soon as I can - it sounds like a great way to mobilize people to be a positive force for change in the world. :)

  14. I hear you on that! Definitely put it at the top of your list. :o) Or even better, go to one of the seminars. Seeing it on video is cool, but going through the actual experience of going there and doing the exercises - THAT was what had the big impact on me. Particularly the arrow break exercise.

Anyway, I’ll quit trying to convince you now. :) I’m just really passionate about it cause it made such a huge impact on me. Not just the book - that helped, it opened my eyes up a bit - but being there in person was what really made the difference.

  16. LOL, I know huh. Hope it wasn’t too cheesy. There are few things that I think are worthy of getting excited about, so when I come across something really good (in my own opinion of course) - I tend to be EXTRA passionate about it.
