It’s been quite a while since I’ve posted anything… the last time was back on January 19th, and even that was a simple link post.

In the past, I’ve usually gone down on the writing front because of depression.

I’m happy to report that this time around it wasn’t the case.

I’ve gone down on the writing front simply because I needed to take some time for myself - to clarify my goals, to do some better life creating on my own, and to make some tough decisions about just where my resources of time, energy, and money are best utilized.

I struggle with whether or not to apologize for this. While there are many of you out there who know me pretty well by now, and therefore know that I’ll be back after one of these unplanned hiatuses, there are others who may have come across this blog, subscribed to it, and then forgot about it because no content was coming their way. If that’s you, welcome to Creating a Better Life! I appreciate your attention.

If you’ve contacted me recently, your email may still be sitting in my inbox. Give it a little more time before you become offended by my non-response. :)

Thank you all for your attention and patience.

  1. Never apologize for not writing a post. If we spend all of our time writing we never replenish the well…we won’t have anything meaningful to say. :)

  2. tHANKS FOR THE GOOD NEWS. dON’T APOLOGIZE BUT SHARING IS NICE. tHANKS.

  3. Good to hear from you Lyman

Blogging should be something you do because you enjoy it rather than feeling like an obligation. Taking time out to refocus is so important.

Speaking for myself, I’m a lover of communication so when someone I like isn’t there for awhile, I so appreciate even a quick note saying they’re ok. That’s just me babe!

I say that because when I am going through periods of deeper introspection, I don’t always broadcast that to too many people.

Come and go as you need Lyman. It’s great when you come back!

    Cheers,
    Lorraine

  4. Welcome back !!!

  5. I was just writing an article on the importance of prioritizing your values and ensuring that you apply them to your daily life by spending the most time on things that are important to you. (I had just been through a “slow-down for reflection” period myself and decided to focus more on the things that I truly value in life rather than the things on my to-do list. It’s something repeated bouts of depression and recovery have taught me to do.) You’re break is a perfect example of the need to re-prioritize and re-focus.

After all, when you’re on your death bed, I doubt that you’re going to say, “Gee, I wish I would have worked more and built up larger subscriber numbers.” Focus on yourself first. Take time off to figure out how you want to spend your life. Find your direction. Whether you take one day off or one year off, the audience will still be here when you get back.

And never apologize for taking care of yourself.

  6. Great to read your post,
