EFT (Emotional Freedom Techniques) Documentary Released

When a documentary can bring tears to my eyes, it’s well worth a little exploration and recommendation.

Try It On Everything, a documentary that explores Emotional Freedom Techniques and how it can be applied to a number of life situations, was released about a week ago.

I pre-ordered the DVD back in August of 2007, and was happily surprised when it showed up in my mailbox a couple of days ago.

Try It On Everything does a fabulous job of showing EFT in action on a number of issues, including addiction, grief, trauma, and physical pain.

I’ve written a bit on EFT in the past, but have recently fallen off on doing tapping. One of the things to remember about EFT is that, while it does often produce really impressive results, it’s not a magic cure all pill. It’s something that usually needs to be applied consistently over time.

That’s one of the things that I really liked about this documentary - it shows this up close and personal. You get to see what results people get immediately, and it also follows up with them. Some of the individuals experienced immediate relief, others stopped tapping and reverted back to their issue, while others experienced partial relief but continue to tap. They are also continuing to follow the participants on the DVD website (Spoiler Alert!) .

The purpose of this film isn’t to teach people how to use EFT - there are plenty of resources out there for that already, many of them free. The best place to start is at the original EFT website - emofree.com. There are also quite a few EFT practitioners who have websites with tons of free information and instruction, such as Carol Look and Brad Yates - two of my personal favorites who also happen to be in the film.

Bottom line - I really enjoyed this DVD, and would recommend it to anyone who has an interest in EFT and just what’s possible with it. If your reaction to EFT after seeing it in action is “That’s Impossible”, please don’t forget:

“There is a principle which is a bar against all information, which is proof against all arguments and which cannot fail to keep a man in everlasting ignorance—that principle is contempt prior to investigation.” - Herbert Spencer (quoted in Alcoholics Anonymous, Fourth Edition, Appendix II, Spiritual Experience)

  1. Hi Lyman!

I got my copy and, oh my, I wasn’t expecting the result that it would have. Rene and his OH MY GOD went straight to my bones and it really stirred up my feelings about when I was watching my Dad die.

I had a nice couple of sobbing rounds of EFT on issues that I didn’t even realize where there.

I highly recommend it to everyone as well. Doesn’t show how to do it, but it does show the changes EFT can help to facilitate.

Hope you are still tapping away!
    Vickie

  2. I watched the dvd last weekend and I actually wept after all of the participants told their stories. It was so moving because I knew that they would be different people in the end and we were going to watch it happen. Especially the man who lost his wife in the accident…when he broke through, it gave me chills.

And I also had the same experience as Vickie in that it stirred up issues in me while I watched and I had to press ‘pause’ to tap on a few things in the middle of it.

This is going to be a great tool for getting EFT out there. Oh, and did you know that they are donating a free copy to a halfway house, jail or school with every purchase? Too cool.

  3. Hello All!

I Googled the movie “Try It On Everything” and found this blog. I read through your posts and was so happy to see you all enjoyed the movie. I am the lady in the movie who was healed of fibromyalgia and perfectionism (Jodi). I just wanted to let you all know there is going to be a follow-up release (we just taped it this past weekend) that shows how we are all doing 6 months after the event. You will be delighted and amazed! Also, if you want to know more about all of us, you can also go to my website (www.godisaverb.com) and read my blog.

Thanks for your kindness and concerns! We appreciate you and share our love with the world.

    God Bless–
    Jodi
