If I told you I could show you how to double your productivity and therefore double your income in the next 5 minutes, would you believe me?
I’m guessing you wouldn’t, but I’m going to tell you anyway.
The technique I’m going to talk to you about for boosting your productivity has worked WONDERS for me personally, and I feel like I need to share it so other people like you can get the same benefit.
So let me tell you what I believe to be the biggest productivity booster I’ve ever come across…
The 50/50/30 technique
The 50/50/30 technique is simple. In fact this is one of simplest productivity techniques I’ve ever come across. I first heard about this from Eban Pegan in his $2,000 productivity course – so consider yourself blessed that you’re getting this information!
So here it is:
You work for a 50 minute block, then a 10 minute break.
Another 50 minute block, 10 minute break.
Then a final 50 minute block, and a 30 minute break.
But what makes this special is that during those 50 minutes where you’re working, you can do NOTHING else but work. No phone, no email, no talking to your animals, nothing. Whatever you’re working on, that’s all you can do.
If you’re typing, type for 50 minutes straight.
If you’re creating a product, you create that product for 50 minutes straight.
If you’re reading, you do nothing but read for 50 minutes straight.
I don’t care if the phone rings – you simply let the machine get it (or your voicemail).
Then during your 10 or 30 minute breaks, you do nothing but relax. Get your mind completely off the subject of “work”. You might do the laundry, read a book (non-work related), get a quick bite to eat, or anything else that can relax you for 10 or 30 minutes depending on which break you’re on.
What I’ve found is that I can literally get as much work done in the first few hours of the day as I used to get done working all day long.
Now in the beginning you won’t be able to do this very many times throughout the day. Most people can only do 1, then they feel overwhelmed because they’re not used to doing so much work in a short amount of time. So what you need to do is simply start slow and work your way up.
I personally started off with 1 per day, now I usually do 2 or 3. Each block is 3 hours, 20 minutes and if you do 2 of them you’ll be doing a total of only 5 hours of work.
Now 5 hours might not sound like a lot, but I urge you to try it. Honestly, do this for 1 day and limit yourself to working only those 5 hours. I bet you’ll get more done in those 5 hours than you did in a normal 8 hour work day.
And obviously if you want to keep working, go ahead. There’s no set guideline for this…just do what you can. But if you only work 5 hours per day you’ve just saved yourself 15 hours per week, but you’re getting the same amount of work done!
Why This Works So Well
There are actually 2 reasons this technique works so well.
I won’t get deep into this but the first reason is simply because we have natural energy “waves”. What that means is that your energy fluctuates throughout the day and working in this cycle matches up perfectly with your natural energy, giving you the most energy when you’re working.
The second reason this technique works like a charm is simply because when we get distracted, it takes an average of 20 minutes to get back on task to what we were doing. So essentially if you get distracted just once every 20 minutes, you’re going to get almost nothing done for the day.
By blocking out 50 minutes of time each day you won’t allow yourself to get distracted and you’ll be able to focus your energy much better.
So what I want you to do today is simply to do 1 round of this. That’s it. After that, go back to your normal work schedule.
As I said, don’t start out trying to do 3 or 4 rounds of this because you probably won’t be able to do it. It’s kind of like eating healthier or quitting smoking. You can’t just jump from one lifestyle to the other, you need to ease yourself into it for the maximum and most long-lasting effect.
This is probably the best productivity secret I’ve ever come across and has personally boosted my own productivity AT LEAST 100% – if not more.
And remember….
Work 50 minutes, 10 minute break.
Work 50 minutes, 10 minute break.
Work 50 minutes, 30 minute break.

Thanks for sharing this technique, Jeremy! Short, focused time is so much more productive than long, do this then this then that then the other thing times.
I’m looking forward to working with the 50-50-30 when I sit down to work tomorrow morning.
Thanks buddy! Let me know how it goes for you.
I bet you’ll find it extremely powerful like I did. I was actually kind of amazed at how much work I got done in my first 50 minute block with no distractions.
