Saturday Night Updates (a video, an ebook, two audios, and a few links)
(3)Posted on October 20th, 2007Lyman ReedUncategorized
It’s been waaaaaaaaay too long since I’ve posted an update on what I’ve added to the ebooks, video, and audio pages, as well as letting my readers know about some of the great stuff there is out there on the InterWeb. Consider this a catch all from the past month or so.
Added to the Personal Development Audio Page
Mark Joyner Interview - Law of Attraction in Action - since I’m a big fan of Mark Joyner, Edward Mills, Simpleology, and Evolving Times, I jumped on listening to this once I saw it… and I wasn’t disappointed. It’s got some of the most rational and inspiring thoughts on the Law of Attraction I’ve heard in a long time.
T. Harv Eker has his Secrets of the Millionaire Mind teleseminar available for download. A video of the live seminar is also available (which has more information in it), but the teleseminar download is great to listen to if you are on the go.
Added to the Personal Development Ebooks Page

Good stuff from the Web
I’m always looking for ways to keep up with the conversation on blogs - Commentful from Blog Flux seems to fit the bill really well. I’ve only been using it for a couple of days, but so far so good. If you’re using Firefox for your web browsing, they’ve got a Add-on that really works well - it’s unobtrusive yet functional, and alerts you when there are comments on pages that you are watching. If you don’t have Firefox, you can visit the Watchlist page that is created when you sign up, or subscribe to it’s RSS feed. I’d highly recommend it to anyone who wants to keep up with the conversations they’ve joined in the blogosphere.
Priscilla Palmer, creator of the Personal Development List, has put out a call for contributions to a book she’s putting together. If you’re interested in being included, all of the information can be found in her Book Submission Request Article.
Gleb Reyes has a great writing project going on as well - the What Is Personal Development Writing Project. For the entries so far, be sure to check out What Is Personal Development: Part 1 and What Is Personal Development: Part 2. The project is running through the last Friday of October, so there’s still time to get your submissions in. Here’s my contribution: Three Steps of Personal Development
And speaking of writing projects - Aaron of Today is that Day wrote a fantastic post on having The Courage to Decide Whether or not you even Care. The irony of Aaron’s article (well, I don’t know if it’s really irony, but I don’t care) is that Aaron tagged me for two of the memes that he worked into the post - with the caveat that if those he tagged didn’t have the time, inclination, or desire to participate that they shouldn’t feel obligated.
Blogging memes can be a double edged sword - they are a great way to build community, to spark article ideas, and to send visitors to those who start them and take part in them. Unfortunately, they also produce a sense of obligation to participate - and obligation can be one of the greatest creativity killers of them all (at least for me it can be - I’m such a rebel
).So here’s my feelings on participation in blog memes. I do appreciate people thinking of me, but please don’t be insulted if it takes me a few days, a week, a month, or more to participate (the oldest one in my drafts is from Terry Starbucker - SOBCon ‘08 may actually happen before I finally write it out.) Or I may never participate - just publishing something for the sake of getting it done doesn’t sit well with me.
I think that pretty much covers all of the updates I haven’t posted. Thanks for visiting!

Personal Development Audio and Video Added This Week
(12)Posted on August 5th, 2007Lyman ReedUncategorized
It was a great week for new audio and video finds:
I’m really excited about this one, and have already listened to it at least 10 times: the original audio of Earl Nightingale’s The Strangest Secret, with commentary by Mark Victor Hansen. “The Strangest Secret” is a classic in the field of personal development, and it shows that The Secret movie and book weren’t the first to reveal “the secret” via modern communication channels… Earl Nightingale was!
Because of a thoughtful discussion on my Keep the Power Flowing article, I was introduced to Powerfull Living with Lorraine Cohen, a weekly internet radio show that presents interviews with experts on success, the Law of Attraction, productivity, and more! Be sure to also visit Lorraine’s Bring It On Weblog for more insights for Powerfull (with 2 L’s) Living.
And last (but far far far from least), via Keeping the Secret (who else), a full version of Bob Proctor’s The Science of Getting Rich Seminar. Well worth the 1 hour and 47 minutes to watch and take notes on.
